Photo mounted on tiles

This is a very neat and easy way to make photograph keepsakes for display or for gifts.  Utilizing some of my trusty scrapbooking supplies, I took a photograph and created a digital photo layout and printed it to fit on the tile.  I am using a 6x6 ceramic tile found at the local Lowe's or Home depot.

After finding some really great scrapbook papers to match, a few embellishment star brads and ribbon, I gathered up the modge podge and got to work making this permentently mounted keepsake.

You can do so many things with this!   You can display photos from dance recitals, graduations, birthdays, school pictures, family photos and so much more.   They would make great unique gifts for giving photo's to long distance relatives or grandparernts or even new parents.

Here are pictures of a few more I have worked on this past year.

Digital Scrapbook pages

The use of digital scrapbook layouts can be a quick way to get a page together.  It can also be a super helpful tool to get photos arranged and ready to adhere to a traditional scrapbook paper page.

I have had so much fun trying out new looks and designs as I try to keep up with all the photos stashed and waiting to be scrapbooked!   Here are a few samples of some digital layouts.

This one i did to show the patriotic fun my daughter had this year for the 4th of July.  She had two different outfits and of course posed for the camera each time!   Using the digital layout I got a great looking title, journaling and photo layout.  After I printed it out, all it needed was to be adhered to 12x12 cardstock a few embellishments and it was ready to go to the album.

This page I did really quickly with a pre-made template.  I just dropped in the photos from the 4th of July fun and i quickly had a layout with mulitple photos ready to be scrapbooked and shared.

This page I did using some photos from a couple of years ago.  I had not done any specific scrapbooking for that holiday yet, so I grabbed a few that would help show the memory of my Grandmother visiting that year.  Again, it was a simple matter of adhering it to the coordinating 12x12 scrapbook paper with a couple of embellishments and it was ready for sharing.

Combining digital and traditional  scrapbooking is a great way to save on time and make beautiful quick layouts.  The ease of placing one photo or up to a dozen photos is a plus as you can move them and size them and crop the images with a click of a mouse.   It is quickly becoming my first choice for scrapbooking when there are more than 4 photos to use.

Baby shower, 2 page layout combining digital and traditional scrapbook techniques

This is a two page spread I created as a hybrid page, where I have combined both digital scrapbook layouts with traditional paper design.   I utilized the digital cd of my photos from 8 years ago bring these memories to life in a layout for my daughters scrapbook of her first year.   The ability to combine the digital photo manilpulations gave me the ability to showcase many photos from this day.   When I created the 12x12 page layouts, I added in coordinating ribbon and flowers to continue with the theme and colors.  This is a simply and easy way to get alot of photos easily on one or two pages for a scrapbook.

Dream a Little Dream page - Using Patterned Paper

This is one of my favorite pages that I did for my daughter's first year scrapbook.   The journaling tells the story of how I found out I was pregnant, and is very much a story I wanted to make sure to get down on paper to pass on to my daughter.   The design on this page was my first try into using several pattern paper designs on one page.  I added inthe splash of green color to give the eye places to rest in the busy patterns and swirls.    The sonogram picture I scanned into the computer before printing and cropping it to fit.   This is something that I will always do when scrapbooking,  I will never use the original photo, only a copy or enhanced version so as to keep the integrity of the photograph intact.

For the Love of Scrapbooking

This year I have been working to start my own scrapbooking service company, and in April it became official when ScrappyMoo Designs, LLC was born.   My love of scrapbooking was always something I admired and never thought I could be that good at.  When I became pregnant in 2003, that all changed as I wanted to be able to capture and remember every single moment i could of my daughter's life.   This new obsession of mine is now 7 years in the making and I am turning it into a way for me to work from home and combine it with something I absolutely adore.
My love of scrapbooking is something I want to share withanyone who wishes to learn, or just does not have time to dedicate to the art.   Even those who may think they are not creative enough can now turn to me to take care of all the dirty work and give them a keepsake to share, cherish and pass along to loved ones.   Even giving the gift of memories can be so rewarding for not only the one giving, but the one recieving.   So many options that I can help with and do to give anyone piece of mind that their memories will be preserved and safe and ready to pass along.

This blog will be where I share my techniques I am learning and impriving upon.  I want to share ideas, and also offer up services to those who like my work and want the experience of creating lifelong memories.
